Colesel Spumanti is a company located within the Valdobbiadene Docg area, specifically, it is the only company within the Cartizze micro-zone to have total control of the production chain, following the process from the raw material to the finished product.
The company was established in 1949, and after generations since 1986 Siro Bortolin has called it Colesel or ‘little Colle’, the hill of Cartizze he owns. Today it is managed by his sons: Bortolin Vlady , managing director and oenologist and Antonio, while Siro takes care of all the cultivation and management of the vineyards.
Colesel Spumanti consists of 25 hectares of its own vineyards divided between Cartizze and Valdobbiadene Docg, 25 hectares of leased land, plus it relies on historical grape growers, who are looked after throughout the year by Siro during vineyard management. These bring a further 80 hectares of production to the total quantity, reaching an annual total of around 12,000 quintals of grapes processed.
All Colesel selections are born from a philosophy that starts from the vineyard, from the must, base wine to the sparkling wine, characterised by research, exaltation of the raw material, respect for the territory and a strong identity that Vlady has given to each of his bottles with great stylistic rigour and distinctive character.
