Vinexpo 2022
From Monday 14th to Wednesday 16th February, the Producers’ Consortium will welcome visitors to its exhibition space at Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris (Hall 5.3, Stand DE 174).
The Consorzio di Tutela del Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG is proud to present – during the wine fair in France – the sparkling wines that act as ambassadors for the historic production zone of Prosecco, an exceptional area which, in 2019, was granted the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In all, the event will host 32 wine-producing nations from all over the world, and the organisers expect to welcome over 20,000 visitors.
Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris is only the first of a number of international appointments that the Consortium has in its agenda for 2022, but it is important to highlight the fact that France is in fact a significant and growing market for Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G.. Indeed, despite strong competition from local products, exports to France have increased to a substantial degree. According to the Consortium’s latest economic report, sales in France in 2020 consisted of 586,260 bottles (up 104.1% compared to 2019), for a value of around 3.1 million Euro (+110.3% compared to 2019).
“Taking Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. to France and having the opportunity to talk about it to an audience that is used to dealing with wines of the stature of those from that country is a very significant step for our denomination” states the Consortium’s President, Elvira Bortolomiol. “It will also be interesting to have our region and its various expressions presented by the French Master of Wine Edouard Baijot, who will be our authoritative travelling companion at this event” adds the Consortium’s Director, Diego Tomasi.
For members of the trade, it will be possible to learn more about Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. thanks to the masterclass titled “Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, from terroir to wine”, conducted by the Consortium’s Director, Diego Tomasi, and Master of Wine Edouard Baijot. This event will take place on Monday 14th February from 3.30 to 4.30 p.m. at the International Masterclass Room in Hall 3.
The wineries that will be present on the Consortium’s stand are: Andreola, Bellussi, Cantine Vedova, Colesel, Frassinelli, La Farra, Merotto, Serena Wines 1881, Trevisiol, and Valdo.
