Sport and nature

It’s an attractive combination and even more so when the venue is the stunning surroundings of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is what draws many trail running enthusiasts to the Valdobbiadene-Pianezze, an event with a unique appeal along a splendid route dominated by Monte Cesen, which will be held for the 27th time on Sunday 26 May.

The event will feature two highly competitive routes: the 4.3 km Vertical Race, which ascends trail number 1007 to the finish line at Pianezze, and the 24 km Trail Race, which will start and end in the centre of Valdobbiadene. Each edition of this event has been so successful that registration often has to be closed early to guarantee that all athletes can enjoy topnotch race management and services.

The main race is the Trail 24 km event. This 1500-metre ascent up and over Monte Cesen has become a major fixture for all trail running enthusiasts in recent years.

As in previous years, the 2024 edition will take place on the last Sunday in May. Following the public’s enthusiastic response to the 2023 event, the race is planned to finish in Piazza Marconi, right in the heart of Valdobbiadene. The venue will also host the event village and allow all participants to join in the post-race party, which will include live bands and DJ sets until the evening. This promises to be an exceptional event – one that will leave the over 500 athletes with many cherished memories as they navigate highly technical routes offering breathtaking views of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG hills.
