Land, hospitality, tradition. These are the keywords that will guide the Primavera del Prosecco Superiore 2022. This annual spring event, which celebrates the wine that symbolises the Conegliano and Valdobbiadene Hills UNESCO World Heritage Site, finally returns after a long hiatus. The food and wine festival officially opened on 27th March to coincide with the very first Giornata Regionale per I Colli Veneti – a day of events established to protect, promote and celebrate the hills of the Veneto Region. It’s an initiative which chimes perfectly with the philosophy of the Primavera del Prosecco Superiore and its 17 Wine Exhibitions, one of the finest examples of regional marketing.

The festival, which was established 26 years ago through the dedication of volunteers working with the local tourist office, has today become one of Italy’s most prestigious wine tourism events. What makes the Primavera del Prosecco Superiore unique is its ability to provide tourists with an unforgettable experience, in which Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG and the denomination’s winemaking heritage become a sort of “Ariadne’s thread”, guiding visitors on a journey to discover the local area, its culture and hospitality, through a season of shows, guided tours, nature walks, sporting events and a whole host of other initiatives.

All of this within one magical territory which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This area is also celebrated in the verses of local poet Andrea Zanzotto and his poetry inspired a program of events entitled Postcards sent by the gods. During the last edition, these events proved so popular that this year they will be extended to focus on two different themes: the natural world and cultural heritage. June also sees the return of the The Fascetta d’Oro Wine Competition, which awards the best wines from the Conegliano Valdobbiadene area. The purpose of this and the entire season of Wine Exhibitions is to promote the product that symbolises the Treviso hills within the land of its origins. Finally, great attention will be paid to welcoming returning tourists, with a whole host of interesting events included in the program, along with initiatives aimed at fostering collaboration between the various exhibitions and local businesses.
