Canevel Spumanti came into existence in 1979, founded by Mario Caramel, a known expert and admirer of the sector. The company’s mission is to produce excellent spumante in Valdobbiadene, with great cultural resonance, the epitome of the land of the province of Treviso, with a historic calling for wine-growing and the production of sparkling wine.‘Canevel’ means ‘little wine cellar’ in the local dialect, in fact, the corner where the best wines, together with their secrets and ancient traditions, are jealously guarded and preserved. From its origins, Canevel has based itself on the far-sighted vision of integrating the entire chain of production, managing the vinification and production of sparkling wine and setting itself the goal of purchasing a significant base of vineyards, today represented by 26 hectares of selected land in the Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG area. Since September 2016, Canevel has been part of the Masi Agricola Group, leading producer of Amarone in Valpolicella Classica. Underpinning the partnership is a perfect match of style and characteristics between the two companies: recognised brands with premium positioning, linked to the values of the founding family, rooted in the “cultural terroir” of the Triveneto, with highly complementary products.
