Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG will be enjoyed by VIPs and Patrons of the opera company in the beautiful grounds of Belcombe Court, in Bradford-on-Avon near Bath during August and September. The wines will also be available for opera-goers to purchase and enjoy with their picnics. Free masterclasses which will allow visitors to learn more about the region and wines will be presented by Sarah Abbott MW at two of the performances.

The President Elvira Bortolomiol said: “Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG is one of Italy’s best kept secrets. For while prosecco is a household name synonymous with Italy, the DOCG is a much smaller area, and a UNESCO world heritage site, where viticulture is carried on under extreme conditions that is why this is called heroic viticolture.”

IF Opera works to challenge people’s perceptions of opera and introduce it to a new audience. Their approach is to offer accessible, affordable opera to more people by choosing unique venues, adapting production methods and seeking out diverse talent.

The President continues – “Our Consortium often supports cultural initiatives in Italy and abroad – art exhibitions, literature prizes and jazz festivals – and we are delighted to be part of IfOpera’s summer season. Their mission to celebrate culture in an inclusive way is one we share. Opera has deep roots in Italy and expresses our creativity and joy for life. The wines of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG have been shaped by generations of winegrowers farming our unique landscape. Like opera, our Prosecco Superiore is an expression of Italian cultural heritage that is joyous, delicious and open to be enjoyed by all”.
