Conegliano Valdobbiadene is a unique area with an immediately recognisable identity as an important wine-growing centre. Here, thanks to the area’s climate, geography, morphology, and cultural characteristics, people have, over the course of time, shaped an exclusive landscape and produced a unique, high quality wine. Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG wines are the result of a tradition of excellence deeply rooted in these hills, where wine-growers have worked this land for centuries; a land highly suited to wine-growing but also difficult to cultivate. Centuries of hard work on the slopes of these Riverbanks (“Rive”) have recently resulted in UNESCO’s recognition of the uniqueness of the hills where Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco wines are produced: “an outstanding example of a traditional human settlement, which, thanks to the use of the land, is representative of a culture (or cultures), or human interaction with the environment especially when it has become vulnerable under the impact of irreversible change”.
