The Consorzio di Tutela del Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG took part in the third edition of the Sparkling Wine Forum, held on April 23–24 in Reims, in the heart of the Champagne region. The event brought together 210 industry professionals from around the world, with a rich program of technical and scientific presentations dedicated to the world of sparkling wines.

The Consortium was the only Italian organization featured among the speakers, contributing with two key moments that highlighted the richness and complexity of our Denomination.

On Wednesday, April 23, the masterclass “A toast to the terroirs: discovering the different faces of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG” was held, engaging 30 participants including professionals, buyers, and wine communicators.
The tasting offered a unique opportunity to explore the many nuances of our hilly landscape, the role of the Rive (single-vineyard sites), and the importance of climate and heroic viticulture in shaping the sensory profile of Prosecco Superiore.

On Thursday, April 24, the Consortium’s Director, Diego Tomasi, took the stage at the international scientific conference with a presentation entitled “The terroirs of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco wines: a case study on the origins of quality in the UNESCO heritage hills.”
His was the only Italian contribution to the forum and offered a technical-scientific perspective on the deep connection between territory, soil, microclimate, and the enological quality of our DOCG.

The Sparkling Wine Forum featured 47 speakers, including renowned researchers and specialists from the United States, South Africa, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Italy.
It represented a strategic opportunity to strengthen the international positioning of Conegliano Valdobbiadene in the premium sparkling wine segment, and to reinforce the perception of our territory as a benchmark in terms of identity, quality, and research.
