Following the positive opinion expressed by the international Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) regarding the Hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene’s inclusion in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Innocente Nardi, President of both the “Colline di Conegliano Valdobbiadene Patrimonio dell’Umanità” Association (set up specifically for the purpose) and of the Producers’ Consortium of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG, made the following declaration: “We are now getting ready to face the last stage of the process , which began in 2008, for the hilly zone between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene to be recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After receiving this positive judgment from ICOMOS, we are confident about the outcome on 7th July in Baku. We are proud of the progress that has been made so far. These have been over ten years of intense and productive work, contributed to with great passion and involvement by the Veneto’s Governor, Luca Zaia, the Municipalities of the region, the representatives of the Government and of the competent Ministries, as well as by the Scientific Committee led by Professor Mauro Agnoletti”.
